Visit of the Advisor to the Governor of Anbar for Energy Affairs

The Dean of the College, accompanied by the Dean's Assistants and Department Heads, received the Advisor to the Governor of Anbar for Energy Affairs, Engineer Hassan Abdul Majeed Ahmed, on Sunday, July 20, 2025. During the visit, a meeting was held via Google Meet, attended by the President of the "Together for the Protection of Humans and the Environment" Association, Engineer Saadia Falih Hassoun, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Nazim Awad, a member of the Scientific Committee in the Environment Department, to prepare a comprehensive technical study in coordination with the Heet District Mayor and relevant departments to find solutions to the problems of sulfur springs in Heet. During the meeting, several important issues related to sulfur spring emissions were discussed, including: forming committees and teams to prepare the study in cooperation with the College's Industrial Advisory Council and specialized researchers in this field; collecting data from previous studies that addressed the impact of sulfur springs; and cooperating with civil society organizations concerned with environmental protection to produce a technical study that includes recommendations and proposals on how to address sulfur spring emissions.
