Delegation of the Head of the Environment Department to the Scientific Research Authority

On Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the Presidency of Anbar University dispatched the Head of the Environment Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Manaf Abdul Rahman Juma, along with a group of directors of Anbar University centers, to the Center for Environment, Water, and Renewable Energy at the Scientific Research Authority, affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in Baghdad. The delegation was received by Dr. Amer Naji Ahmed Al-Naimi, Director of the Center, and the heads of the department at the Center. The delegation conveyed the greetings of the University President, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nida, and the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences - Hit, Assistant Professor Dr. Rasim Faraj Muslim. Dr. Amer and his colleagues expressed their cooperation with Anbar University, utilizing all the capabilities available at the center. The delegation discussed conducting local studies to detect water, air, and soil pollution in Anbar Governorate, in cooperation with the aforementioned center. This will be done by utilizing previously stored data and new measurements according to the study's requirements. These include physico-biological measurements, including measuring the half-life of water in springs, oases, and lakes in the governorate to determine its quality and shelf life, measuring toxic and heavy chemical elements, and genetically detecting the types and types of bacteria adapted to the aforementioned areas. The delegation also discussed water scarcity, water recycling, and food contamination in local markets. The delegation also visited the Space Research Center - Environmental Risk and Disaster Reduction Department and the Satellite Department to review data that can be obtained to monitor geographical and geomorphological changes in the governorate, as well as the Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology Department. All members of the aforementioned centers and departments expressed their cooperation with the university to support scientific research.
