The College of Applied Sciences – Hit Welcomes an Academic Delegation from UiTM Malaysia
In a strategic step towards enhancing scientific internationalization and solidifying the University of Anbar's standing in international academic circles, the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences – Hit, Assistant Professor Dr. Rasim Faraj Muslim, along with the Vice Deans and Heads of Academic Departments, welcomed a high-level academic delegation from UiTM Malaysia on Monday, December 22, 2025.
The visiting delegation was headed by Professor Dr. Mohd Rozi Ahmad, Dean of the College of Applied Sciences at UiTM, accompanied by a select group of academics and experts, including:
• Professor Dr. Wan Izhan, Vice President for Research.
• Professor Dr. Ali H. Jawad, an international expert in chemistry and the environment, and a faculty member at the aforementioned university.
• Dr. Ebawani Alesa, a faculty member. This visit came in response to an official invitation from the University of Anbar and aimed to open avenues for joint research and academic cooperation, particularly in the fields of applied sciences and contemporary environmental issues. This would be achieved through launching large-scale joint research projects that contribute to the exchange of expertise and knowledge transfer, activating the memorandum of understanding signed with Malaysian universities, updating curricula, and facilitating reciprocal teaching for students of both universities.
As part of the visit program, members of the visiting delegation delivered a series of specialized scientific lectures to undergraduate students in all departments of the college, as well as to postgraduate students in the Department of Applied Chemistry. These lectures covered the latest global developments in applied sciences and scientific research, contributing to enhancing the students' knowledge and academic skills.
The visit also included field visits to the college's facilities and advanced laboratories, familiarizing the delegation with the scientific infrastructure and exploring ways to develop it further to serve the educational and research process.
This visit reflects the commitment of the College of Applied Sciences – Hit to strengthening effective international partnerships and building sustainable academic relationships that contribute to raising the scientific and research standards of the college and the university.
